This was a great story!

I really liked the line — “we launch out of the garage like a turtle on Thorazine.”

Nice! Are you down there now?

Not right now. If you continue to read Of Pisco and Peru, my wife is based on the Auntie M character. She's a voice actress. Her voice is on the intercom in Lima airport. With her job we travel around alot: Portland, LA, Las Vegas, and now we're in Florida. We usually travel to Peru 1-2 times a year to visit family, depending on what special occasions pop up like weddings, graduations, etc...

I always enjoy my time there. Wouldn't mind retiring there, eventually.

Cheers

I’m in Vegas now, but hope to go there before long. That sounds like a great situation.

I was in Portland a few months ago for a Chuck Palaniuk reading event.

Thanks so much. I definitely went for a HST gonzo style for the novel. If you'd like to start from the beginning: https://randy6ab.substack.com/p/of-pisco-and-peru

Yeah, we just got back from Portland a week ago to visit my family. In the suburbs where we were things were good, but we wound up going downtown. It's sad, but things have changed and not for the better. Somebody, I don't care who, has got to come up with an effective/humane solution for dealing with the homeless/drug problem. It feels out of control, and, in Portland's case, keeps people from going downtown.

Where was the Palaniuk reading? That sounds fun.

Where do you live in Vegas? We lived there 3 years and enjoyed it.
